C&C Technologies also provides a range of services including marine construction surveys, high-resolution geophysical surveys, marine telecommunications surveys and geotechnical surveys including full laboratory testing. In addition to its headquarters in Lafayette and branch office in Houston, C & C has offices in Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Angola, the United Kingdom and Singapore. In 2005, approximately 60 percent of C & C’s revenues were earned from overseas efforts. C&C employs approximately 300 people worldwide.
Formed in 1992 by brothers Thomas and James Chance, C&C Technologies first specialized in conventional hydrographic surveys in near-shore and inland waterways. The Chance brothers realized that success is truly determined by the experience, knowledge and dedication of its personnel. “We have a truly fantastic team of very talented and dedicated individuals, both domestically and internationally,” Thomas Chance, President of C&C, noted. “Our people have a ‘can-do” attitude, and they are very customer-oriented. We are successful because of our people and the way they think.”
One noted team member, Captain Nestor Granelli, has been particularly instrumental in the international success of C&C Technologies. He initiated several of C&C’s international programs, and, working with Le Centre International and the World Trade Center of New Orleans, continuously promotes the Acadiana region to the worldwide community. “Louisiana has been temporarily place d on the international map due to the recent hurricane catastrophes, states Captain Granelli. “I work to increase worldwide awareness about this region’s wealth of human and technological resources.”
In 2004, C&C Technologies received the United States Department of Commerce Export Achievement Award, and the Dr. Ray Authement Award, as well as being listed in the Times of Acadiana Top 100 Privately Held Businesses, an honor it had previously achieved in 2003, 2002, and 2001. The company is now part of Oceaneering International, Inc.
